What are sitemaps?

 Sitemaps are becoming very important to the webmaster these days. What I like is the search engines have come together and released a standard that is followed by all search engines. The Sitemaps Web Site has all the details for putting a sitemap on your web site.

Each of the search engines also have their own details, but the overall standard is a good place to start.
